Leader says Hamas will succeed in peace-making as it did in resistance

During the past days, US and European diplomats have been secretly meeting with Hamas leaders in the West Bank, Palestinian sources close to the Islamic Resistance Movement revealed on Tuesday.

The sources told PIC at least five meetings between Western diplomats and Hamas leaders took place in the past few days following Hamas’ crushing victory in the Palestinian elections, which were held last week.

On Saturday, three former American ambassadors to Middle Eastern countries met with a number of elected Hamas leaders in the West Bank, including Sheikh Nayef Rajoub from Hebron, PIC reported.

Rajoub reportedly told the former diplomats that Hamas would succeed in governance and peace-making as it did in resisting the Israeli occupation. “We will not beg for meeting Western diplomats, but if they come to visit us, we will receive them with all due respect,” he told PIC.
