HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) and HKTDC International ICT Expo will be held from 13-16 April 2009 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. These world-class events, located in the city-centre commercial hub of Wan Chai, are the focus of the electronics and ICT industries. The two fairs together will gather over 3,500 booths.
HKTDC also announced the launch of a HK$ 120 million assistance package to help exhibitors during the ongoing financial crisis. The special package includes an incentive program to bring more new trade buyers to HKTDC’s international trade fairs in Hong Kong, which are expected to be the focus of key players in the electronics and ICT industries. It also provides subsidies to Hong Kong exhibitors participating in these trade shows to assist them in strengthening their marketing efforts.
The Hong Kong Electronics Fair has grown to become the largest fair of its kind in Asia, reaffirming its status as a premier international trade platform.
Exhibitors from around the world will offer the latest electronics products. Mr Raju Narayanan T., sales manager of Gulf Wireless & Television Co. UAE, visited the fair last year, and placed orders with five suppliers. “As the Spring Edition is one of the major sourcing shows, we participate every year. The fair enables us to keep abreast of the latest technology and trends, and to expand our business.”
Raymond Yip, Assistant Executive Director of HKTDC said: “The expansion of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre is due for completion in early 2009, adding around 1,000 standard booths. Exhibitors and buyers at the fair will be among the first to experience the new state-of-the-art facilities, with more space and upgraded services and amenities, strengthening even further the HKTDC’s status as one of the world’s premier trade fair organisers.”
The Hall of Fame returns to showcase quality brand names in appliances and components with strong appeal in the consumer market and in the electronics manufacturing industry. In addition, special products zones will be set up to help buyers locate products to meet their specific needs. Among the product zones are In-Vehicle Electronics & GPS, Electronic Gaming, Audio Visual, Home Appliances, Digital Imaging and Healthcare Electronics.
Running concurrently is the International ICT Expo, a professional trade fair for information, communications and technology companies to present their state-of-the-art software solutions and services.
In order to keep up-to-date in this fast-changing industry, four new zones will be added, namely Computer & Peripherals, Digitainment & Multimedia, IT Security and Storage Technologies. Together with existing zones, these show the cutting-edge products and solutions which are highly attractive to international buyers.
Information and communications technology is an exciting and dynamic industry. International ICT Expo highlights this with six themes - IT Security, Applications for Telematics, IT Service Outsourcing, Wireless Applications, E-Logistics & Retail Technologies and Business Solutions for helping SMEs to save costs and resources. Seminars will be conducted to equip visitors with relevant information and knowledge.
Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) and International ICT Expo will offer excellent insight into global developments in the electronics and ICT industries. The two fairs will be held concurrently with the first edition of HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition).
