Four Islamic Jihad members were killed in an Israeli attack in the Gaza Strip on Monday afternoon, bringing to five the death toll in Monday's strikes.
In another attack on Monday, a Hamas fighter was injured in an Israeli air attack on a Gaza City street. He was riding a bicycle when the missile struck.
Additionally, Israeli shelling in northern Gaza Strip knocked out electricity for about 50,000 residents.
Later in the day, a 35-year-old Israeli woman was killed and another person moderately wounded when a Palestinian rocket hit a car in the town of Sderot.
Meanwhile, Hamas' armed wing cautioned its members on Monday to stop using cellular telephones and vehicles to avoid being tracked and targeted by Israel. "Do not use the Jawwal (mobile) phones at all," a Hamas spokesman.
"Do not get in groups. Do not use any kind of transportation at all because the planes of the Zionist enemy are in skies all the time," he said, according to Reuters.
