At least two Israelis were among hundreds of passengers killed Tuesday in plane crashes in the US, reported the Jerusalem Post newspaper.
A United Airlines spokesman confirmed that Alona Avraham was a passenger aboard United Airlines Flight 75, the second hijacked plane to crash into the World Trade Center in New York.
Avraham was in her mid-twenties and had recently finished university studies, the spokesman was quoted by the paper as saying.
Israeli Daniel Levin, 31, was also reported to be on one of the hijacked planes that was forced down by terrorists, Army Radio reported, cited by the paper.
An earlier report by the paper said that the Israeli foreign ministry in Jerusalem has received the names of 4,000 Israelis believed to have been in the areas of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon at the time of the attack Tuesday.
The list is made up of people who have not yet made contact with friends or family, the radio said, cited by The Jerusalem Post newspaper.
Telephone connections between Israel and the New York City and Washington, D.C. areas has been sporadic and unreliable since the multiple attacks.
Ten thousand people are estimated to have been killed in the New York attacks and another 800 in Washington.
