Jawad Qasfi, a Lebanese detained in Israel, has lost his daughter,15, without ever seeing her after the teen died from cancer and was buried on Saturday, relatives told AFP.

"The Israelis kidnapped him a few months before Jamila was born. We sent him just one picture of her as a newborn with the International Committee of the Red Cross," said a relative who did not wish to be identified. "She died yesterday at the age of 15 from cancer that hit her three years ago," he said during her funeral at the family's home village of Sultaniyeh, near the southern port city of Tyre.

Qasfi was kidnapped back in 1987 by Israeli commandos while working in a field in Sultaniyeh, just outside the border zone occupied by the Jewish state for 22 years until its withdrawal in May 2000. He was abducted four months after his wedding, according to his relatives. (Albawaba.com)
