A new Lebanese political party was created Sunday, headed by Minister of State Talal Arslan, reported the Daily Star newspaper.
Arslan, a Druze, declined to divulge the group’s political stance, while maintaining that the Lebanese Democratic Party was not based on “ideological principles.”
Speaking at a news conference, Arslan said his group called for dialogue and was open to all Lebanese “without exceptions.”
When asked about the party’s short-term political goal and its position relative to other groups formed recently, such as the Qornet Shehwan Gathering and the Democratic Forum, Arslan declined to answer.
He said he did not want to discuss politics, since the party was still at “the stage of announcing its creation.” The party has formulated opinions on all issues, he continued, but was not yet ready to announce them - Albawaba.com
