Families of abducted Lebanese servicemen Friday met with the Qatari ambassador to Lebanon to press the case of their loved ones, according to a statement issued the same day.

They will later hold a meeting with the Turkish ambassador for the same purpose.

Family members of the 25 hostages held a press conference at Beirut's Riad al-Solh area after their meeting with Ambassador Ali Bin Hamad al-Marri at the embassy in Beirut's Ramlet al-Baida.

"The purpose of the meeting was to convey a humanitarian message to the Emir of Qatar (Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani) about our suffering," Hussein Youssef, the father of hostage Mohammad Youssef, told The Daily Star.

He described the meeting as "fruitful," expressing hope that the message will be conveyed to the state of Qatar in a "very transparent manner."

"We are seeking serious action," Youssef added.

He said that the families of the hostages no longer trust that the Lebanese state "has the ability to affect the case."

"Our cause surpassed the capabilities of the state," he underscored.

He also revealed that the families will meet with Turkish Ambassador Suleiman Inan Oz Yildiz in an attempt to arrange a future meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"We are ready to do anything to revive the case and press it forward."

Tuesday, the families pleaded for Qatar, Turkey and former Prime Minister Saad Hariri's help to end their woes.

They urged Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to help secure the release of their children, expressing hope that the case would be wrapped up ahead of the winter season, which is harsh in the remote areas on the outskirts of Arsal.

ISIS and the Nusra Front have been holding 25 policemen and soldiers hostage since August 2014, when the militants briefly overran Arsal.
