A Lebanese man was injured in an overnight explosion in front of the office of Qatar Airways in Beirut, police said Thursday, cited by AFP.

The civilian was slightly wounded in his hand when the explosive charge of about 200 grams went off just outside the entrance of the airline offices in the Ain el-Tineh seafront neighborhood, they said.

Police said the man was a by-stander at the corner of the street at the time of the explosion.

There was still no information on the reasons behind the explosion, they said, adding that an investigation was still underway.
