A former Lebanese ambassador to Greece was ordered Monday to appear before a Beirut magistrate on charges of wasting public funds, reported the Daily Star newspaper.
Elias Ghosn, who was Lebanon’s ambassador to Greece between 1990 and 1997, was charged with failing to regularly transfer fees received by the embassy for various administrative duties on behalf Lebanese and Greek nationals.
The law requires that all fees paid to the embassy should be transferred to the foreign ministry on a monthly basis – Albawaba.com
