Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri received Monday an interior ministry report regarding the possibility of suing Israel for more than half a century of aggression, reported the Daily Star newspaper.

The cabinet is expected to study the report during Thursday’s session before taking any further measures, said the paper.

The report said Israeli aggression had killed or wounded tens of thousands of people, made hundreds of thousands of others homeless, and caused heavy property damage.

It added that legal experts were studying all aspects of the case and that according to these experts, the proper venue for any eventual trial would be the International Court of Justice, as it has jurisdiction over inter-state conflicts.

The report also said that should cabinet decide to pursue the suit, local and international legal experts should be recruited to prepare the case and determine extent of moral and material damage suffered by the victims – Albawaba.com
