R+T Middle East, the only professional trade show dedicated to roller shutters, doors gates and sun protection in the MENA region, has revealed that it is keen to capitalise on the steady economic growth of Levant countries such as Lebanon, Syria and Jordan to attract trade visitors to the inaugural edition of R+T Middle East being held from May 10 to 12, 2010, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC). In line with this, R+T Middle East held road shows in Lebanon, Syria and Jordan in April 2010 to leverage the strong growth potential of the Levant region for specialised products such as roller shutters, doors/gates, windows, sun-protection and access control systems.
R+T Middle East noted that the growth of the construction sector in Lebanon, Syria and Jordan is itself a good indicator of the healthy state of the economies of these countries. In Lebanon, construction permits in the first two months of 2010 grew by 37 per cent compared to the corresponding period last year, while in Syria, a supply shortage as a result of unprecedented demand for residential, office, retail and tourism properties has led to the resurgence of the country's construction sector. Likewise in Jordan the construction sector rebounded in the fourth quarter of last year, growing 12.8 per cent from a year earlier.
Angela Schaschen, Managing Director, Deutsche Messe Dubai Branch, said, "Over the past few months we have been receiving several enquiries from developers and contractors from Levant countries about R+T Middle East. We believe that the construction sector in these countries is not only set for impressive growth in the coming years, it also represents a fast-maturing market that is willing to adopt the latest technological advancements."
"Being the MENA region's pioneering trade event for roller shutters, doors/gates, windows, sun-protection and access control systems, R+T Middle East will serve as a convenient, accessible and high-profile networking platform for all stakeholders in the construction and related industries. The roadshow aims to further enhance the value proposition of R+T Middle East by providing an exciting preview of the event, while also allowing us to interact and determine the specific requirements of our target markets," she added.
R+T Middle East will be held concurrently with DOMOTEX Middle East 2010, the MENA region's only dedicated trade show for carpets and floor coverings.
R+T Middle East is jointly organised by Deutsche Messe Dubai Branch and Messe Stuttgart. The event is also under the technical and conceptual sponsorship of the Federal Association for Manufacturers of Roller shutters and Sun protection (Bundesverband Rollladen + Sonnenschutz e.V.) and the National Federation of Door and Gate Manufacturers (BVT - Verband Tore).
R+T Middle East 2010 will feature a comprehensive range of products and services, including roller shutters and accessories; windows, window shutters and accessories; awnings; Venetian blinds and roller blinds; doors/gates and accessories; drive and control systems; electrical security equipment; business fittings and furnishings; and technical literature. The event will also seek to sustain the momentum generated by R+T 2009 held at the New Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre and the recently held R+T Asia 2010 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, which attracted more than 330 exhibitors from eight countries and over 13,000 visitors.
