Tension was high in the Bekaa Valley town of Majdal Anjar on Wednesday following a clash that left two wanted men killed and a Lebanese soldier injured. The dead were identified as Ammar Mohammed Hussein and Ali Mohammed Bou Abbas.

A Lebanese army communiqué, cited by Naharnet, said Hussein and Bou Abbas died during an exchange of fire with Lebanese soldiers who were on a mission to raid houses of those wanted in attacks on security forces. The statement said the men opened fire first on Lebanese troops, wounding one soldier.
