Legal & General Gulf Takaful B.S.C (c) Launches in Bahrain

Legal & General Gulf Takaful B.S.C (c), a wholly owned subsidiary of Legal & General Gulf B.S.C (c), a joint venture between UK-based Legal & General Group Plc and Ahli United Bank Group (AUB), announced the launch of its retail business in Bahrain.
Legal & General Gulf Takaful will offer various life Takaful products through Ahli United Bank branches in Bahrain and ultimately the broader GCC region. Legal & General Gulf Takaful’s wide range of life insurance products will include Shari’a-compliant lifestyle-based savings, investment and life insurance plans (education, retirement and wedding plans), tailored savings plans (flexible and regular savings plans) and a pure life insurance plan (family protection plan).
“By utilizing our insurance expertise and superior customer service standards that guarantee customer satisfaction, we plan on building meaningful relationships with our customers,” said Bert Paterson, Managing Director, Legal & General Gulf Takaful, on the eve of the launch.
Legal & General Gulf Takaful’s products are unit-linked plans (with the exception of one pure life policy) offering value for money and transparency, with the added benefit of underlying investment funds.  These products are offered based on a needs analysis approach: identifying customer needs and requirements and then selecting the most fitting product.
 “Internally, our efforts have been directed towards building the leadership team, infrastructure and administrative system and processes with a focus on identifying and developing local expertise. The ultimate goal being: meeting the needs of our customers,” Paterson explained.
Legal & General Gulf B.S.C (c) and Legal & General Gulf Takaful B.S.C (c) were granted their licenses and commercial registration by the Central Bank of Bahrain last year. Their management team includes: Bert Paterson, Managing Director; John Leavey, Appointed Actuary; Siva Subrahmanyam, Chief Operations Officer; Ron Cheyne, Sales & Marketing Director; and Kevin Gaston-Grubb, ITO Director.
