LG Electronics appoints a new General Manager in Saudi Arabia

LG Electronics, a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, announced appointment of Mr. Jong Hoon (John) Lee in the position of LG’s General Manager – Saudi Operations, and will replace Mr. Simon Lee, LG’s Ex-General Manager in Saudi Arabia.
Before assuming the position of leading Saudi Arabia Operations as General Manager, Mr. Jong Hoon (John) Lee worked in Tehran office in the capacity of Digital Display Products Manager, then he became the TV Marketing Group Leader in Head Quarters Korea, after which he assumed the responsibility of the MEA Home Entertainment Business Unit Leader in the Regional Headquarters Dubai.
Lee’s appointment comes in line with LG’s planned roll out of a series of new and innovative products, which are expected to secure a unique market position for the Company in Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Simon Lee, the Ex-General Manager commented on the new appointment, “We are confident that with John’s experience and expertise, we will be able to launch our new products with much impact and success; and hopefully achieve great success over the long term”.
An MBA holder from Thunderbird School of International Management in USA, the new General Manager’s aspirations include, making LG the top brand in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and globally in all product categories by the year 2012. Mr. Lee said, “We are aiming to achieve a two digit market share in mobile phones industry during the year 2010 through strengthening business fundamentals and through laying the foundation for B2B business, and to transform LG into a total solution provider in the area of air conditioners and business solutions. Not only that, but we are also aiming to achieve the number 1 market position in LCD/PDP TV business and to maintain the number one position in air conditioners and home appliances.”
