In celebration of the Kingdom’s Independence and Army Days in addition to the retirement of Captain Mohannad Mahadeen’s - Captain of the Jordan National Football Team and Al Fasiali Football Team, LG Electronics hosted two dinner celebrations.

The celebratory dinners were held on June 6th and June 7th 2007 at the poolside at the Hussein Youth City. Both dinners were attended by members of the Jordan and Iraqi National football teams, officials from their respective football associations, LGE dealers in Jordan and Iraq, the Ambassador of South Korea in Jordan, the Ambassador of Iraq in Jordan, and other distinguished figures from society.

On the first night of the dinner celebrations guests enjoyed live entertainment by Jordanian talent Mit’eb Al Saqqar, while on the second night they enjoyed their evening while listening to authentic Iraqi music. The two dinners were held in preparation of a friendly football match that was scheduled to be held on Friday June 8th at the Amman International stadium.

The impending match between the Iraqi and the Jordanian national teams was also to mark the official finale of Captain Mahadeen’s career as a football player.

Taking a great interest in this iconic figure, and being the official supporters and sponsors of the Iraqi National team, LGE was the official sponsor of the match and the dinner celebrations.

Commenting on LGE’s support for these events, Mr. Kevin Cha, General Manager of the LGE Amman Branch said, “It is an honor for us to be among our dear guests in this series of memorable occasions, all made even more special by the fact they concede with Jordan’s celebrations of its 61st Independence Day. We hold both the Jordanian and the Iraqi National teams and Captain Mahadeen in the highest regard, and we look forward to an exciting match. And we are glad that we are once again the supporters of such a major event for both teams, and for regional sports in general”.

“We realize that these teams need all the support that they can get, and it is our duty as LG Electronics and MEC to provide for them with the tools they need to excel within the international sports arena. On this occasion, we would like to thank the Jordanian and the Iraqi football associations, for making the arrangements for this important event. And finally, we congratulate Captain Mahadeen on his achievements, and wish him the best of luck in his future plans. We also would like to extend our congratulations to each and every Jordanian on the occasion of our Independence and Army Days.” Added Mr. Osama Khalili, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Middle East Complex, an agent for LGE products in Jordan
