A Chinese company won the contract for carrying out the first stage for establishing a railway line in Libya of 3170 kilometers in coming September with the length of the first stage being 191 kilometers at a cost of $ 470 million, reported ArabicNews.com Saturday.
The first stage, according to the agency, links between Tunis and the Egyptian borders through Libya.
Quoting a Libyan official, "the Chinese company will extend the lines and the preparatory works as well as putting the light signs."
The official told the agency the railway line will be named the 'Railway of the Moroccan Sahara' and will be established in the framework of Libya's plan to boost joint cooperation with its neighboring countries - Albawaba.com
