Libya has named an ambassador to Sierre Leone after a 25-year diplomatic absence from Freetown, a presidential source said on Saturday.
On Friday, Ambassador Ali Telesie presented his credentials to President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah and said that the countries could build and develop strong relations, based on mutual respect and cooperation, according to AFP.
Kabbah, for his part, said Libya had played a vital role in helping to rebuild Sierra Leone after ten years of civil war and has given humanitarian aid to thousands of people displaced by the conflict. (Albawaba.com)
