Libyan Oil and Gas minister suspended over legal violations

ALBAWABA - According to an announcement by the Libyan Administrative Control Agency (ACA), Libya's Oil and Gas Minister Mohamed Oun has been temporarily suspended from work.

An investigation into legal breach has been launched against Oil and Gas Minister Mohamed Oun "regarding the facts of case No.178, which revealed the presence of legal violations" The ACA said on its verified Facebook page that its head Abdullah Qadirbuh issued the suspension decision against the oil and gas minister in Tripoli for the investigation.

A source at the oil ministry told Reuters that the ministry had yet to get a copy of the decision. The ACA mentioned the minister's title and referred to him in a brief statement using only the three initials of his complete name.

The agency, which is responsible for overseeing government performance, has the authority to challenge appointments to public positions and increase public accountability.
