Two Saudis died and six others were wounded by lightning as heavy summer rains lashed the mountains of southwestern Saudi Arabia, a newspaper reported Saturday.
The eight men were sheltering under a tree when the lightning struck on Friday at the resort city of Taif, Okaz said, quoting civil defense sources. Three of the injured were admitted to hospital, while the other three received first aid.
In the meantime, a family of four drowned Friday while swimming in the Red Sea off Jeddah, the daily also reported. The parents died trying to rescue two of their children who were swept away by the high tide. A newborn baby was left on the beach with his grandmother. (Albawaba.com)
