M’Sharie launches Annual Awards for its subsidiaries

M’Sharie, the private equity arm of Dubai Investments PJSC, has launched the M’Sharie Annual Awards (MAA) 2008 – an initiative aimed at recognizing and honoring group companies that demonstrate outstanding business performance.

M’Sharie awards seek to recognize excellence based on critical performance parameters, and will showcase companies and key decision-makers who have implemented and promoted efficient and effective systems and procedures within their organizations. The awards program also aims to create awareness of various tools and practices that distinguish successful companies.

Announcing the launch of the M’Sharie Annual Awards 2008, Abdulaziz Yaqoob Al Serkal, Managing Director of M’Sharie, said, “The M’Sharie awards have been launched to recognize and reward group companies and individuals who have helped to raise performance standards through their initiatives and results. Through this program, we aim to create a platform for company managements to network and to share ideas and views on best practices in performance improvement.”

“At M’Sharie, our corporate policy extends beyond making winning investments in high-growth establishments and encompasses a focused approach to ensure that our group companies adopt the best global practices and implement innovative management and operational techniques. The launch of M’Sharie awards is in keeping with this strategy to continually explore new ways of promoting excellence,” Al Serkal added.

“Worthy appreciation is known to be a major morale-booster. By celebrating success and recognizing performance through the M’Sharie awards, we intend to motivate our companies and our people to strive towards world-class business excellence standards.” Al Serkal added

The M’Sharie Annual Awards 2008 features four main categories of Excellence Awards – the Management Excellence Award, Operational Excellence Award, Financial Excellence Award, and Marketing Excellence Award. In addition to this, the MAA program also features 15 categories of Appreciation Awards, where companies and individuals will be honored for performance in specific sub-disciplines including continuous improvement, best practices, marketing innovation, and resource utilization.

For the 2008 awards, candidates will be identified through applications made by the group companies. All submitted applications will be assessed and screened, and a judging panel will then review the applications. Application forms are to be submitted to the Judging Panel which will evaluate the performance against a set of criteria and then will make its final selection for each category of awards.

The M’Sharie Annual Awards 2008 will be presented at the annual MAA program to be held in April 2009.
