A Saudi Arabian Airlines Boeing 747 delayed takeoff on Wednesday from Cairo after cleaners found a live round of machine-gun ammunition under a passenger seat, according to airport police, cited by AFP.
A thorough search was subsequently undertaken by police officials and explosive experts aided by sniffer dogs before the plane was allowed to depart with 270 passengers on board to the Saudi Red Sea port city of Jeddah, an hour and a half behind schedule, they said.
The cleaners discovered the bullet during the stopover of the airplane that came earlier the same day from Jeddah. (Albawaba.com)
