• Maher won AED 2 million in cash
• 10 other winners receive a cash prize of AED 10,000 each
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a leading regional Islamic bank, has announced the names of the August draw winners of its Ghina savings programme. The first winner of the AED 2,000,000 grand prize was Mr. Maher Ibrahim. 10 other delighted winners were each presented a cheque of AED 10,000 at ADIB's headquarters in Al Bateen, Abu Dhabi.
ADIB’s Ghina savings programme aims to encourage the savings habit as customers earn one raffle draw entry for opening the Ghina program and one each for every AED 20,000 that stays on the account for one calendar month. The draws provide an opportunity to win the grand prize of AED 2,000,000 three times a year in addition to 20 cash prizes of AED 10,000 every month. The draws are conducted on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month and the grand prize is decided once every four months.
Expressing his happiness on being declared the grand prize winner, Mr. Maher said: "I have recently thought of converting all my financial transactions to Islamic banks, and after I knew about “Ghina” program from Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, in addition to my confidence and cognition that ADIB is one of the region’s leading Islamic banks, I made a decision to start saving in "Ghina" program. I have always been happy to deal with the bank knowing that I have opened my account five months ago. In fact, I expected to win the grand award, and I had a strong sense of optimism that I will win the grand award, and this has come as a timely blessing by the grace of God. I am quite overwhelmed right now to know exactly what I would do with my winnings but given the onset of the holy month of Ramadan I would definitely like to share some of my blessings with the underprivileged. I am surely going to invest a portion of it back with ADIB and see this amount grow over the years."
