Egyptian actress Majida Al Subahi has refused to sell the movies that she has produced to an unnamed Production and Distribution company, reported ‘Akhbar El Nujum’ magazine.

The production company had offered the legendary actress a blank check in return for her films, considered to be part of the Arab World’s most important film heritage.

However, the actress immediately declined stating “I have never thought about selling my movies for more than the five years.”

Early in Egyptian Cinema History, those in charge had decided that an artist can sell the rights of his/her work for a maximum of five years, after which all rights would be returned to them.

Meanwhile, the actress also commented on the recent call for the restoration of important films saying “I completely believe in fixing a movie and saving it for the test of time.”

“A restored film will also preserve the name of Egyptian cinema and the stature of its stars,” she added – Albawaba.com.
