Make Up For Ever and Georges Hobeika Couture: the beginning of a creative journey
“For 25 years, I have been inspired by my everyday urban life and my numerous journeys abroad. The Middle East, in particular, fascinates me with its rugged beauty, its people and their deeply rooted traditions. The Arab woman is unique: strong willed, brave, wise and yet so gently feminine. This has inspired me to create the ideal look for her, ” Dany Sanz, Creator of Make Up For Ever.
Sanz wanted to give the Arab woman a complete look combining makeup, hair, accessories and fashion, designed uniquely for her with her tastes and desires in mind.
This is when she met Georges Hobeika, the internationally renowned Lebanese fashion designer and one of the first from this region to dominate the catwalks of Paris.
Naturally, Hobeika and Sanz instantly clicked as they share the same passion for creativity and the same desire to give women the tools to feel beautiful every day. They decided to come together to undertake a creative journey, which will bring unique looks that have been designed for the women of the Middle East.
The first part of the journey began on January 26th, 2009 when Hobeika launched his Summer 2009 collection on the catwalks of Paris. Sanz and Hobeika collaborated backstage at the fashion show, each supervising their respective areas of expertise. Sanz worked on all the makeup sketches for the show and supervised each look, even working on some herself.
However, the journey does not end here…for the first time in Make Up For Ever’s history, the brand comes together with a designer from the Middle East to create a look that is distinctive to one region. Together, Sanz and Hobeika are launching a new collection in Dubai during May 2009. Stay tuned…
