Port authorities of Malaysia and Yemen have agreed on a "sister port" arrangement to boost trade development between the two countries, reported the official Iranian news agency (IRNA).
Malaysia's main port, Port Klang Authority, is to help Yemen
Ports Authority with information exchange, technical assistance, port studies as well as training.
Yemen has also invited the Port Klang Authority to jointly develop and manage part of Aden Port, said the agency.
Malaysia's Transport Minister Dr Ling Liong Sik, who made the announcement, said Malaysia was very interested in this offer and would study it.
He was speaking in Kuala Lumpur at a joint press conference with Yemeni
Minister of Transport and Maritime Affaairs, Captain Saeed Abdullah

"Aden Port is in a very strategic location on the Suez Canal,"
Dr Ling Said. "It is a golden opportunity."
Saeed Abdullah arrived on Sept 4 and his visits included Port Klang, the Kuala Lumpur International Airport and the Malaysian Highway Authority.
"You have a very advanced level of privatization, which is the way of the future. Yemen also wants to privatize many of its sectors, and we hope to learn from Malaysia," he said.
Malaysia and Yemen also have initialed a draft text of bilateral air services agreement.
They had also concluded a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to provide air services arrangement, said Ling.
Ling said the MoU provides a flexible arrangement for airlines of both countries to plan and commence air services between the two countries in the near future – Albawaba.com
