Malta's President Guido De Marco arrived at the Presidential Palace Monday morning to hold official talks with Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides and ink agreements on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments and on cooperation in merchant shipping.
The Cypriot President greeted his Maltese counterpart during an official ceremony where the two proceeded towards their respective flags and the national anthems of both countries were played. The two leaders then inspected a Guard of Honor.
According to CNA, the President of Malta laid a wreath at the statue of the late President of the Republic of Cyprus, Archbishop Makarios III, and observed a moment of silence.
