Mary Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell, Shimon Sakaguchi win 2025 Nobel Prize in Medicine

ALBAWABA - Three scientists, two Americans and one Japanese, have just earned the 2025 Nobel Prize in Medicine, AFP reported on Monday,

According to the press, Mary Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell, and Shimon Sakaguchi won a Nobel Prize for their discoveries on 'peripheral immune tolerance'.

Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Shimon Sakaguchi will all gain the prize "for their fundamental discoveries relating to peripheral immune tolerance," the Nobel Committee revealed at a ceremony in Stockholm.

According to Olle Kämpe, chair of the Nobel Committee: "Their discoveries have been decisive for our understanding of how the immune system functions and why we do not all develop serious autoimmune diseases."
