Mashreq’s Makaseb Emirates Opportunities Fund (MEOF), won the Lipper Fund Award 2009, for the best fund over three years in the Equity United Arab Emirates category. The distinction is based on consistent risk-adjusted performance in the United Arab Emirates Equity category relative to its peers.

Lipper, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reuters, is the world's leading fund research and analysis organization. The Lipper Fund Awards seeks to highlight funds that have excelled in delivering strong performance in most individual classifications for the three, five and ten-year periods; awarded to funds in 21 countries in Asia, Europe, MENA, and the Americas. In addition, the Lipper Fund Awards program spotlights fund families with high average scores for all funds within a particular asset class or overall.

“This recognition underlines our focus on delivering superior, consistent long term performance to our investors,” stated Ibrahim Masood, Senior Investment Officer at Mashreq. “Being recognized for this success will strengthen our performance record and bolster investor confidence, a key focus of our team.”

Makaseb Emirates Opportunities Fund (MEOF) aims to achieve capital appreciation through investment in shares listed on the UAE stock exchanges by using a dynamic asset allocation strategy.
