ALBAWABA - A huge fire broke out at a local market in Tehran, Iran, on Tuesday morning, local media announced.
Videos showing a massive blaze and smoke rising into the sky were posted on social media.
According to early reports, the fire emerged in Janat Abad market in Tehran, which is said to be located near Niayesh Mall in west Tehran.
On the other hand, the cause of the fire is unknown, while firefighters and rescue workers were dispatched to the location of the fire.
Tehran Fire Department Spokesperson revealed in a statement, "An hour ago, a large fire was reported to the fire department in a local market at the Niayesh-Jannat Abad intersection, and five fire stations sent necessary equipment, including vehicles, tankers, and oxygen cylinders, to the scene."
The fire occurred in a 2,000-square-meter warehouse filled with stalls and multiple uses. The fire at this location is so extensive that it can be seen from different parts of Tehran.
Iran International posted the video and wrote, "Videos received by Iran International show the massive fire in Tehran's Jannat Abad on Tuesday, February 4. According to Tehran Fire Department, this fire pertains to the local bazaar at the intersection of Niyayesh - Jannat Abad, and the extent of casualties is not yet known."
