Mayor of Amman, Omar Maani, discussed with the French Minister of Urban Policy, Fadila Amara, during her recent visit to Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), the cooperation possibilities and exchange of expertise between the two cities, Amman and Paris, in different fields, especially bridging the social gaps in the cities.
Maani briefed Mrs. Amara on GAM’s future plans and current projects in the metropolitan plan domains, developing the public transportation system, updating the infrastructure, and conserving the environment, to contribute to developing Amman and providing the best services to the citizens in all the regions.
Maani also highlighted many social, humanitarian, and cultural initiatives that GAM launched to serve Amman regions.
On her part, Mrs. Amara reviewed the efforts exerted by the French Ministry of Urban Policy to reduce the social differences, and achieve equality among the citizens to get education and transportation services.
In the presence of the French Ambassador to Amman, Corinne Breuze, the Minister shed light on the importance of the citizens’ participation in building the city and maintaining its sustainability to keep pace with the urban and social development.
The French Minister further expressed her admiration of the architectural expansion and development Amman City is witnessing nowadays , as well as the future plans in congruence with the growth of the City.
The meeting was attended by the City Manager of Amman, Eng. ‘Ammar Gharaibeh, and senior officials from GAM.
