Mayor of Amman, Omar Maani, patronized on 30/12/09 a ceremony organized by the Family Development Association (FDA) in the final phase of the Centennial festivities; the ceremony included some artistic shows, poetry recitation, and an exhibition for handmade and heritage works.
Council member and head of the Association, Myassar Saadi, declared that the ceremony was held to honor Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) which has always been super headed in the municipal work, serving the citizens and Amman visitors; and has always been keen to conserve the city identity, foresee its future, and keep up its developmental process in full compliance with the Royal vision.
Myassar Saadi appreciated GAM's role in supporting the projects and activities of the Association which contribute to deep rooting the social responsibility concept, as Wadi Al Hadadeh Center for IT, and My Environment (Bee'ati) project which aims at resolving some environmental issues.
Omar Maani toured the exhibition which included crafts, folklore uniforms and accessories.
The ceremony also included songs and poems performed by the children of FDA, and graduated the Association's girls who participated in a course conducted under the umbrella "Ezdehar".
In conclusion, Salma Saadi handed over the Association's plaque to the mayor as a gesture of appreciation for his supportive role.
On his part, City Deputy Manager for Cultural, Social, and Sports Affairs, Eng. Haitham Jweinat, distributed the certificates to the participants in the aforementioned course.
