With the theme “Teatro di Mercato”, which means “Theatre at Mercato”, visitors can enjoy various stage shows and performances planned for the festival. Based on the Italian theatre theme, beautifully choreographed routines like Italian ballet, opera, comedy and folklore will take place in Mercato throughout the festival. Various roaming performances, such as Venetian stilt walkers, will ensure visitors are kept entertained. Not forgetting the little ones - there will be children’s workshops, movies, puppet shows and much more.
This year, the festival sees bigger sales, bigger prizes and much more fun in Mercato! Adding to the spectacular events is a spend-2-Win promotion that entitles customers spending AED200 or more to enter into a super prize draw. Mercato and its sister mall, Town Centre Jumeirah, have teamed up to offer a grand prize of a brand new luxury Jaguar XF.
Additionally, shoppers can participate in the Ultimate Wish List competition with absolutely no purchase necessary. By visiting the first floor stores in the Porto Vecchio Village and listing their favourite items, shoppers stand a chance to receive their ultimate wish list. Dh50, 000 in products have been sponsored by tenants and there are 4 weekly prize draws. All Wish Lists should be dropped in a special barrel located by the entrance of the Porto Vecchio Village. Winners will be notified each week.
Draws for the Ultimate Wish List will take place on 4th, 11th, 18th February, and 1st March with the Grand Prize draw on 1st March.
The mall has spared no effort in animating & decorating the beautiful mall architecture to create the atmosphere of the Italian theatres that existed during the Renaissance era. The atrium, balconies and arches are draped in deep burgundy with old fashioned theatrical masks, while the main stage takes on a theatre effect that reflects a truly dramatic ambience!
