Spanish police have dismantled a "terrorist cell" linked to the network allegedly headed by Osama bin Laden, the prime suspect behind terrorist strikes in the United States, Interior Minister Mariano Rajoy said Wednesday.
He said six Algerians who made up the "cell" were arrested in different parts of the country, notably in the southeast, in what he called an effort coordinated with Spain's west European allies.
Rajoy said authorities here had acted in concert with police in Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Britain, and Belgium, but did not elaborate.
The interior minister was to give further details in a statement to the Spanish Senate later Wednesday morning -- MADRID (AFP)
