Yemen’s Minister of Immigrants Abdu Ali Al-Qubati hailed the great interest of President Ali Abdullah Saleh in immigrant affairs.

Al-Qubati conveyed that the interest of President Saleh motivated the Ministry to continue following-up on problems of expatriates in the United States, in coordination with Yemen's embassy in Washington and other consuls, which resulted in the release of thirty Yemeni detainees, some of them are under money warrant.

However, al-Qubati said, there are still 35 Yemenis detained in the US for violating immigration laws. He added that the Ministry is constantly following their cases. Al-Qubati told the ath-thawra daily, cited by SABA news agency, that two murder cases are still under investigation and five others had final verdicts, three of them in Michigan, and that the murderers are currently behind bars.
