Ministry of Education and Optimiza Sign Agreement to Develop Huge IT Project
Optimiza to provide schools with modern IT infrastructure
In line with its commitment to actively contribute to the education sector, Optimiza (Al-Faris National Company/ ASE:CEBC) announced landing the “Equipment for Computer Labs and Multipurpose Rooms” tender with the Ministry of Education (MOE) to develop a large nationwide information technology project. Dr. Wassef Al Masri, Optimiza Jordan General Manager and Dr. Maher Sabbagh, Procurement and Suppliers Manager at MOE, signed the project's agreement of cooperation.
By virtue of the agreement, Optimiza will provide around 1148 MOE schools nationwide with more than 8597 computers, projectors, printers and scanners, in addition to Nexans networking products. The project will be carried out over four stages: procurement, installation, implementation, and final acceptance, which is scheduled for completion in late September 2008.
For his side, HE Dr. Tayseer AlNueimi said that this project comes in fulfillment of one of the Ministry of Education's strategic objectives to link all MOE schools, particularly those that are less privileged, to the internet in accordance with HM King Abdullah II's vision to improve the educational system in Jordan as a key national priority. HE further stressed the significance of this project in preparing students to enter the work market equipped with productive skills and IT competencies through the development of e-learning models.
Dr. Al Masri commented on this initiative by saying, "It is with great pleasure that we announce our continued cooperation with the Ministry of Education to develop a national project that supports the noble mission of schools to foster promising generations knowledgeable of all IT developments as a means for opening up to the world."
He added, "We need to create a contemporary society where all responsible parties, including us as an integrated business solutions establishment, work together to create an IT infrastructure in schools to enable Jordan's students and teachers to easily utilize the tools of this modern age in order for us to become a model for success and excellence. At Optimiza, we lend the education sector special care as we believe in its importance in building a prosperous future."
It is noteworthy that this ongoing cooperation between Optimiza and MOE was initiated back in 2002 through the National Computer Company that has been acquired by Optimiza, making this project its fifth tender and the first major tender granted to Optimiza by the MOE through its strategic partnership with Acer International, due to Optimiza's extensive experience in implementing major and key tenders and projects in the different verticals it operates in particularly education.
