Ministry of Finance commences interviews for High Schools’ graduates to offer university scholarships

The Ministry of Finance has commenced interviews to identify eligible students who wish to pursue university scholarships in the area of accounting in the country, as per the governmental decree number (232/3) for the year 2008 . The interviews will continue for two days at Ministry’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi and next  Wednesday and Thursday in Dubai.

About 20 students out of 137 will be selected based on personal interviews and written tests conducted by three committees, comprising staff from the Ministry’s Human Resources Section.  Applicants will be subject to a series of questions dealing with their background, general and private information, and the specific reasons that prompted them to apply for the Ministry’s scholarships.

Commenting on the initiative, Fatima Sawaya, Director of Human Resources, Ministry of Finance and Chairman of the committees conducting the interviews, said, “The move is in line with the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance towards the UAE community. We are happy to note the high interest among the large number of applicants and wish them success."

“We will continue to create opportunities through more of such initiatives in order to serve our community. We are working to increase the number of grants to allow for more participants. This will enable us to contribute more towards supporting youngsters achieve their aspirations."

The applicants expressed their happiness for the opportunities offered by the Ministry of Finance and thanked all in charge of this initiative.

This initiative is a part of the Ministry’s Strategy and Social responsibility plan for the UAE community. The Ministry will also retain all applicants’ data and information for future opportunities.
