Ministry honours GAC for Omanisation policy
GAC Oman has been presented with a special award by the country’s Ministry of Manpower in recognition of its recruitment of local workers and commitment to government employment policies.
What is Omanisation?
Khalifa Thani Al Amri, GAC Oman’s Personnel Manager, says the Ruler of Oman, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, has stressed the need to develop the scientific, technical and vocational capabilities of Omani citizens, to enable them to play an important role in the development of the country. Special attention is given to the employment of the national labour force, with active involvement of private sector companies like GAC.
GAC’s award for its efforts was presented to Managing Director, Patrik Hallden, by Maqbool bin Ali Sultan, Minister of Commerce and Industry, in a ceremony at Muscat’s Al Bustan Palace Hotel.
Valued colleagues
Patrik says that GAC Oman always gives priority to local workers when recruiting for key operational and support posts.
“An experienced Omani workforce is one of our main assets, as it provides strong support to all our activities,” he adds. “Some of our local staff have been with us for decades and are highly valued members of our team.
“We are most grateful for this recognition of our commitment to the Oman Government’s initiatives, and we hope that it will help to further promote better opportunities for the local workforce.”
