Mircrosoft – World Links Arab Region Press Release
Microsoft Corporation Unlimited Potential Senior Vice President, Orlando Ayala, has signed an agreement today with World Links Arab Region CEO Reem Bsaiso, during the Microsoft Government Leaders Forum (GLF) Arabia 2008, at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, where Microsoft introduced its two flagship digital inclusion programs, Partners in Learning and Unlimited Potential – Community Technology Skills Program, and built on the strength of partnerships with governments, schools, non-governmental organizations, and community organizations as part of the Forum’s focal point on “Accelerating Arab Competitiveness”. This further reflects Microsoft’s ongoing effort to promote technology to help foster social and economic well-being in the region.  The Microsoft – World Links Arab Region Agreement is expected to bring valuable technology skills to teachers, students, and communities, as part of Microsoft’s and World Links’ goal to reach millions of underserved people in the Arab Region and worldwide.

Attending the Agreement signing were Samer Salti, Chairperson of World Links Arab Region, Razan Fasheh, Partners in Learning Manager - Middle East and Africa, Ali Hoballah, Unlimited Potential General Manager, Middle East & Africa, William Calarese, Director International Public Relations, Unlimited Potential Group and John Nash, Senior Product Manager.
 
As a first step in their cooperation, Microsoft will provide World Links Arab Region with a grant to update World Links training content, content tools and will also train teachers on the new content.  In addition,  Microsoft will develop an Innovative Teachers Network Arabia Portal  for World Links teachers to interact, share experiences and upload information virtually, as a first step of cooperation.
