Modest Egyptian comedian Mohammad Hneidi has acknowleged that the script for his latest film release, Bilia Dmagho Alia (The Smart Biliah), was bad and had many gaps and that he would never be able to surpass the greatness of his ‘master’ Adel Imam.
In an interview with Al-Ittihad newspaper, the young actor said that although the film was filled with inconsistencies, it was well received by the audience.
He verrified that “the amount of laughter I heard for Billiah was far more than for Hamam!”
“It is laughter that I care about first and foremost in light of the horrible situations that people are living in these days,” he added.
Furthermore, the actor said that laughter was his “calling in life that I never want to leave.”
He also told the UAE daily “there are journalists who are ‘little’ in their jobs. They do not know how to make constructive criticisms. In fact, they find themselves always looking for exaguration and want to slaughter me and my work for their own means. I do not care about them and I only care about the criticism I learn from.”
The Hneidi also took the opportunity to clarrify his position on Egypt’s most legendary comedian, Adel Imam, stating that “I do not even think of competing with my professor of comedy Adel Imam. Anyone who says this is not telling the truth and something like this should never have been said.”
He also answered accusations against him that he used Adel Imam’s crew for Billiah, by saying that “it has nothing to do with competition. It has everything to do with wanting to work with the best.” – Albawaba.com.
