Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development (MBRCLD) has announced that it has held recently a new session of the Spectators Forum wherein Nouf Al Abdul Razzaq, the first-ever Kuwaiti national to be named General Manager of BP Kuwait, conducted a presentation and discussion about her career and leadership experience. The new session of The Spectators Forum, which was held at the Al-Murooj Rotana Hotel in Dubai, was attended by participants of the Elite Program and Promising Leaders level of MBRPLD.
A daughter of a leading Kuwaiti diplomat and a science teacher, Nouf Al Abdul Razzaq has extensive leadership experience in diverse fields, including fine arts, art history, business, politics and marketing. Previous to her new role as head of BP's operations in Kuwait, Nouf Al Abdul Razzaq also led BP's communications and external affairs in Kuwait and Qatar.
Awadh Seghayer Al-Ketbi, CEO, MBRCLD said: "The new session of the Spectators Forum provided a unique insight into the career development of a distinguished corporate leader in the region. Before joining BP and eventually becoming the first Kuwaiti national to head the company's operations in Kuwait, Nouf Al Abdul Razzaq has had extensive experience with other business organisations in Kuwait and in London, which has helped mould her leadership skills and corporate expertise. The program participants certainly learned much and were inspired by her successful career strategy and the corporate and leadership knowledge she has gained over the years."
Nouf Al Abdul Razzaq's professional career started at Sotheby's in London where she worked as assistant to a senior account manager specialising in Islamic art and jewellery. Upon her return to Kuwait, she took up a job as loan officer of National Bank of Kuwait and later joined the HR department of Kuwait Oil Company, where she helped implement projects related to performance planning, succession planning, policies and procedures. Nouf Al Abdul Razzaq eventually joined BP in 2004 as communications and external affairs advisor.
The Spectators Forum is a periodic activity that aims to empower the participants to discuss local, regional and global points of view on the operational policies, challenges and opportunities faced by leaders as they aim to achieve sustainable development. Promising Leaders is a level of Mohammed Bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development (MBRPLD) that seeks to qualify young leaders through training programs and workshops in line with the strategic plans and aspirations of Dubai, while the Elite Program targets talented young professionals in the 21-25 age bracket who have potential to take charge of the UAE's future development initiatives.
MBRCLD has been established in line with the vision and directions of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; the initiator of the MBRCLD initiative who has underscored the critical importance of a highly competent national professional workforce to ensure the country's global sustainability.
