Algeria deported 3,054 African immigrants in the first six months of this year, the Algerian news agency APS reported Thursday.
They were detained at the border posts of In-Guezzam, at the border with Niger, and at Tin-Zaouatine, close to the Malian border, APS said.
Those taken to the border for deportation included 886 nationals of Niger, 682 Malians, 504 Nigerians, 260 Ghanaians and 112 nationals of Cameroon.
Algeria refused entry or expelled the would-be immigrants for falsification of travel documents, counterfeiting, theft, or for prostitution, the agency reported - ALGIERS (AFP)
