Moroccan economy posts impressive growth rates

The Center of Development, based in Paris, and the African Bank of Development (AFDB) have presented their 2005 annual report on the economies of the African continent. According to this report, which was introduced during a press conference held in Paris, the Moroccan economy has achieved impressive growth rates of 3.5% and 5.5% during 2003 and 2004 (respectively).

 

<i>Albayane</i> added that the annual report also indicated that during 2005 inflation could be controlled to 2.3%. Meanwhile, foreign debt was pushed back to 31.7% of Morocco’s GDP in 2004, and the budget deficit was contained within acceptable limits of 2.5% of the GDP.
