The Moroccan government is set to examine son draft laws for protecting women against violence, minister in charge of women condition, protection of family and children, Nezha Chekrouni, was quoted as saying by Arabic News.com.

The minister said that the law projects were drafted by a commission in charge of promoting women's conditions.

She explained that most of the law projects take into account proposals by non-governmental organizations.

Meanwhile, Maghreb Arab Presse (MAP) reported Sunday that the "Democratic Koutla", a coalition of four former opposition parties, called political parties to adopt the quota system in the parties' structures, and increase women’s participation in political decision-making.

The Koutla comprises four parties, said MAP.

In a communiqué released on the women’s international day, the coalition said the quota system is a transitional and provisional measure to overcome the present difficulties that hinder women accession to decision-making – Albawaba.com
