King Mohammed of Morocco had a "good, useful and thorough" discussion of a number of issues with U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell on Monday, the state department said.
Briefing reporters, department spokesman Richard Boucher said the main focus of the discussion was "the events in the Middle East and the U.S. Secretary's trip to the region since we last saw king Mohammed in Morocco.”
He said the King had welcomed the efforts Powell had made and described the results as "positive. "
Powell had informed the King about "the cooperation he had got and appreciated from the international community, including Arab countries like Morocco and Egypt and Jordan.”
Boucher said they also discussed the Western Sahara and the various suggestions for an international or regional conference on the Palestinian-Israeli issue. (Albawaba.com)
