Moroccan prime minister asked for announcement of the historic Iranian city of Isfahan as the twin town of one of the ancient cities of his country, without naming a specific city, according to Iran’s news agency (IRNA).
During his current visit to Iran, Abdurrahman Yousefi was quoted as saying that “if this initiative is accepted, it can have positive effects on the relations of the two Muslim countries.”
Yousefi, who arrived in Isfahan on Saturday morning during his official visit of Iran, proposed the idea during a lunch ceremony in his honor by the Governor General of Isfahan, Seyed Ja'far Mousavi at the traditional Abbasi Hotel of Isfahan, according to IRNA.
Isfahan has been designated by UNESCO as a world heritage. It contains a wide range of Islamic Architectural styles ranging from the 11th century (C.E.) to the 19th – Albawaba.com
