Moroccan security forces have identified one of the senders of six letters sent to a number of the domestic institutions, each containing a suspicious white powder.

The man, a Casablanca-based entrepreneur, confessed to having sent a threatening letter to an industrialist, Morocco’s official news agency reported.

Sources at the interior ministry said that the accused confessed on Friday when he was arrested.

The police are carrying on investigations to uncover potential links between the man and five other letters sent to others, including the US embassy in Rabat and a relative of the Dutch ambassador in Morocco, it added.

Similar unidentified letters were discovered in Bahrain, Lebanon, Yemen and Egypt.

However, the lab results for those letters have not yet been announced – Albawaba.com
