Police in the northern Moroccan port of Tangiers have seized 7.4 tons of cannabis resin in the city's biggest drugs seizure since the beginning of the year, officials said Saturday.
The haul was found Friday inside a truck transporting tinned red pepper. The truck was driven by a Spaniard, 56-year-old Antonio Juan Barrios Maroto. He claimed the drugs had been put there without his knowledge.
Maroto has been arrested and will appear before a court on Monday -- TANGIERS (AFP)
