King Mohammed VI of Morocco presided on Monday over the signing of 39 conventions for the implementation of projects set by Hassan II Economic and Social Development Fund, Morocco's official news agency (MAP) reported Tuesday.
The conventions deal with low-cost housing, industrial and tourism areas creation, encouragement of textile and information technologies sectors, highway program, sea fisheries, water supply to rural areas, cultural and environment projects and other programs to back up micro-credit associations, the agency said, adding that the investment conducted so far by the Hassan II Fund stands at $1.6 billion.
The Fund was opened in 1999 as part of the endeavors to combat unemployment and ensure Morocco's social and economic development - Albawaba.com
