Moroccan authorities said they have arrested a Belgian national of Moroccan descent involved with the attackers who carried out the November bombings and shootings in Paris that left 130 dead, Reuters reported
The man was arrested near Casablanca on Friday, the interior ministry said, adding that he had traveled from Syria to Turkey, and on to Belgium and the Netherlands.
Moroccan officials said that he fought in Syria for al-Nusra front before joining the Daesh militant group.
It is believed that the attacks were at least partially planned in Brussels, and Belgian police have been conducting ongoing investigations and raids that have resulted in the arrests of several suspects.
