Morocco to hold friendly game against Cote d'Ivoire

The Moroccan national football team will play a friendly game against Cote d'Ivoire on August 17, in Sedan (France). The game will take place as part of the two teams' preparation for the African/World Cup qualifications.

 

The Moroccan team is currently still unbeaten, after six games, and leads its Group 5 with 12 points, ahead of Kenya (9 points in 5 matches), Tunisia (8 points in 5 matches), Guinea (8 points), Botswana (6 points), and Malawi (3 points). Cote d'Ivoire leads its Group 3 with 15 points ahead of Cameroon (11 points) and Egypt (10 points).

 

Prior to the match, the Moroccan team will hold a training camp in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from June 7 to June14 and have another qualifying game against Kenya, on June 18. <I>MAP</I> reports that in the previous friendly encounter between the two teams in Rabat, on April 2003, Cote d'Ivoire won 1:0.
